With Tekken Revolution’s free to play release last week, one of the community’s biggest requests has been a training mode. Earlier today on twitter Harada announced via tweet that a Training Mode will be added to Tekken Revolution and it will be free! Will coins be needed though!? Since Harada mentioned that part of the reason they are trying this model is to to grow the player base, it makes sense to give new players a place to hone their skills before losing their blue coins and tickets! If you’re interested in the MadCatz interview with Harada and Michael Murray at E3, check it out below:
Lion-O and his drunk camera man scored a quick interview with Harada and Michael Murray. As usual, its not your typical interview about Tekken and worth a watch. Harada is too good.
In this 30 minute presentation from Gamescom, Harada goes over a lot of the new features in this ‘near-retail’ build of Tekken Tag Tournament 2. He talks about hud/lifebar placement, WTF, Tekken Tunes and more. LOTS of info in the World Tekken Federation section, including unknown spoilers. The statistics tracking is going to be REALLY interesting for everyone, but even moreso for anyone competing in the game.
Looks like Gamespot has been getting a lot of information about Tekken Tag 2 lately with their leak of the new character screenshots followed by the new characters video. Now they have an exclusive interview with Harada-san in which he talks about bringing in some features from Tekken-Net, gives his thoughts on how DLC should be implemented, as well as on the tournament scene and its shows like Tekken Busters. Great read, check it out here, and here’s a couple of my favorite excerpts:
Another big change is that we are incorporating elements of Tekken-Net, our popular arcade network service that has been implemented since Tekken 5. There are many elements to be implemented, but I think the teams feature will change things the most. (more…)
Recently at the UK Fight Club for Street Fighter x Tekken, Tekken Force got the opportunity to interview Harada and Ono. This is not your typical interview and I really wish that Harada had answered the last question legit! Also, for those of you wondering, our first SFxT FightStick PRO stick giveaway winner will be announced later today so stay tuned to the site to see if you won
Famitsu has confirmed that Algol and Edge Master will return in Soul Calibur 5. I like how the oldest dude in Soul Calibur makes his return in Soul Calibur 5 where there is a big jump in time. Always cool to see characters return though. I expect there will be a lot of character reveals incoming as we lead up to the release of the game at the end of January.
Separately, they also have shown customizations that allow your character to look like Harada/Heihachi, but also to have DevilJin/Devil Kazuya moves (ewgf, tgf throw, laser throw?). Pretty neat, more pictures after the jump
