Super Street Fighter 4 – Arcade Edition Release Date Leaked!?

This report from the BBFC, British Board of Film Classification (I think its a British system that rates the content in trailers/intros/outros etc) is showing a release date of June 24, 2011. It makes no mention if it is a DLC or separate disc sale. It does note that there is additional ~6 mins 29 seconds of additional cutscenes. Usually I wouldn’t post this kind of speculation, however it does seem pretty legitimate at this point and the site also mentions that more info would be released on the site 10 days before release.

BTW, it was also revealed in the latest arcadia magazine that Oni Akuma will be unlocked in Arcades on April 8th! Click through for the proof: (more…)

Evolution 2011 Lineup Announced!

During the Wakeup, Shoryuken podcast, the official podcast for Shoryuken.com, Mr. Wizard announced the lineup for Evolution 2011! While some of the games were no surprise, there were definitely a few surprises about the announcement.

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • Super Street Fighter 4
  • Tekken 6
  • Blazblue: Continuum Shift
  • Mortal Kombat 9

Both Mortal Kombat and Blazblue make their first official appearance at Evolution.  This is also the first Evolution ever to be held on one system, as no older generation systems will be used.

Oni Akuma + Evil Ryu Revealed + GAMEPLAY VIDS!

Thats right, they ARE real. Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition at Arcade Infinity in Southern California currently has playable Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma! iPlayWinner broke the news and has a nice breakdown of the characters at this early state.  Rumor has it this wasn’t supposed to happen until May, so I bet someone at Capcom is pretty upset since it probably is going to interfere with their marketing plans. 0ffcast has 40 minutes of gameplay, check it out below:
