Mad Catz Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Fight Stick TE-S+ Unveiled at PAX

by Rip

Over at PAX 2012 the brand new Mad Catz Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Fight Stick has been unveiled and its got some new features! Details aren’t clear yet, but it looks like the art is easily swappable and they have a new non-slip bottom as well. For the PS3 version they’ve also given a nod to the Namco / Tekken fightsticks of the past (I feel like I had this idea awhile ago..) by making the stick and buttons yellow! So sick! Check out the pictures they’ve released below (I’ve added a picture of the original Namco stick as well). The stick will be available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the WiiU.

Cant wait to try out that new bottom as its the only thing I felt was missing from previous Mad Catz sticks!

Tekken Tag 2 – Worldwide Console Release Date, Pre-Order DLC Exclusives, Remix Soundtrack

by Rip

EuroGamer has just revealed the Tekken Tag 2 European Release date along with more info on the DLC characters. The game will be released in Europe on September 14th, 2012! Tekken Facebook page says that the game will release worldwide on the week of September 10th. So for the USA, with our Tuesday releases we’re looking at September 11th (as confirmed by Gamestop). The DLC characters will be pre-order bonuses from different stores. With Harada mentioning that he won’t be doing paid DLC, it stands to reason that the characters will be time-released DLC for everyone or have some other way of unlocking them within the game. That metal case version for GAME buyers looks awesome as well! Also, in the image below a Remix Sound Track is clearly marked so it looks like there will be new music as well! And Behind the Scenes stuff too!? Too good!

Tekken Tag 2 Console – September 2012 – Fight Lab and 50+ Characters

by Rip

We reported almost a month ago that the console version of Tekken Tag 2 may arrive as early as September and today Namco made it official. The console version will include 50+ characters (TTT2 Unlimited has 44) and a new Fight Lab to help new players learn the game while giving old players more options for practice against a bot. Basically, it sounds like its going to be an advanced practice mode which everyone has been asking for.

…while in the all new Fight Lab mode, players can customize the moves and appearance of new training character, Combot. Players that clear the innovative Fight Lab will have mastered the complexities of TEKKEN and own their own customized Combot

There is also mention of possible new stages (Brazil has been mentioned). So far everything sounds pretty good, but they still need to focus on the netcode because we all know how Tekken 6′s netcode was. With Soul Calibur 5′s netcode being pretty well accepted the Tekken team will hopefully use that code base or deliver something equally as impressive.
