Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited – USA Arcade Release?

ArcadeHeroes is reporting that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited will be at Amusement Expo 2012 and that this indicates that it will have a USA arcade release. The 3 day event will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada between March 14 and 16. Its hard to say if ArcadeHeroes is making an assumption or if their report is on good authority but I have yet to receive official confirmation one way or another. Having the location tests a few months ago and now having the game featured at a USA arcade expo seems like a good sign of things to come though. Will update this post if I hear anything new.

Hopefully this brings relevance back to Tekken.

I hope so. I think the 2v1 mode has potential to make things more interesting to spectators. Just have to hope the balance holds up. If tournament players end up sticking to just 1v1 though then I’d be concerned.

I’m lucky that my local round 1 has tekken tag 2 arcade cabinets 🙂

      lol where do you live?!

I hope my local arcade gets one. They used to have really crappy buttons and sticks, but now they replaced all their cabinet controls. All their fighting cabinets have either high quality happ or sanwa parts. I’m so glad they didn’t let their arcade die.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a genuine Arcade.

I really hope they break TTT2U to American arcades. I don’t like Tekken, but it’s a good game and we need more good games in our arcades. Nothing like playing in an arcade.

console release is still a long way to go; wish this came to Canada though

  7. I’d be hype, but Montana arcades (all 2 of them) are excited they have tekken 5 and mvc2 machines. sadly can’t expect anything new soon 🙁

I can’t imagine they would actually spend money on a US release, or that any arcades would knowing that the console version will be out in less than 9 months, unless they have a different and cheaper pcb that they let arcade owners chuck into their t6 cabinets or something…

Hope a few of these find there way over to the east side.

As much as I miss going to the arcade to play Tekken, I may have to do a bit of traveling to get to one of those TTT2 machines :\

I bet South MS won’t get one. Our arcade scene from New Orleans to Mobile has been little to non-existent since Hurricane Katrina back in ’05. We make due with the crew we had before then, but it’s a bit tough finding new blood to join our scene. My hope is that New Orleans somehow comes across a cabinet.

YES!!!, Now the arcade will be less Street Fighter and more variety, started up Blazblue again since the Street Fighter section is usually full
